Licht op Zuid aims to share the love of God with the residents of Bloemhof and Hillesluis. Licht op Zuid forms a faith community where people learn to follow Jesus together.
Additionally, Licht op Zuid provides social support that aligns with the needs of the residents of Bloemhof and Hillesluis. Licht op Zuid creates a community where people care for each other, thrive, and contribute to the neighborhood.
Beginning
In 2010, Licht op Zuid was initiated as a project by the Maranatha Church. Members of the Maranatha Church were eager to share the love of God with the residents living around the church. A pastor with a specific focus on missionary work was assigned to work at Licht op Zuid. This was made possible through financial support from churches and individuals associated with IZB (Missionary Organization within the Protestant Church in the Netherlands), various funds, private donors, the Maranatha Church, and the Protestant Community of Rotterdam-Zuid.
At Licht op Zuid, the leadership team is responsible for daily management. The team sets the direction, makes decisions, guides volunteers, and provides pastoral care.
